ETHICS BOARD

The PICPA By Laws provides for the creation of an Ethics Board, which shall be consisting of nine members, which is allowed to be increased to 15, provided the approval of 2/3 of membership is obtained and with a term of three years, with continuity provision. The Board is tasked to hear and decide on cases involving:

1. Violations of any provision of the PICPA Charter and By Laws.

2. Violations of the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants in the Philippines

3. Violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct of the Board of Accountancy and

4. Any grounds provided by the BOA Rules and Regulations for proceeding against a CPA.

The Board may perform fact finding functions as may be delegated by the National Board pursuant to the Philippine Accountancy Act of 2004 and its implementing Rules and Regulations and other laws of the Republic. The Board is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations necessary to enforce and implement the intent of the Ethics provision of our By Laws

FUNCTIONS

  1. Organize the Board according to the provisions of our By Laws

  2. Perform such functions as abovementioned and as may be required by our By Laws

  3. Promote and create awareness of the procedures covering the hearing of cases in the Ethics Board.

  4. Coordinate with the Board of Accountancy with respect to resolutions on Ethics cases.

  5. Develop the Board’s Plans and Budget for approval by the Liaison Director and submission during the Annual Planning Conference.
