SEARCH FOR OUTSTANDING ACCOUNTING STUDENTS OF THE PHILIPPINES
This is a nationwide search for outstanding accounting students of the Philippines which is a joint project of PICPA and ACPACI, in cooperation with Philippine Duplicators Inc. The contest starts with the schools and students in all the regions in the country and the final selection is done in Manila sometime in December every year. The Contest started in 1998 and has been successful in identifying the brightest and the best in accountancy; most of the contestants traditionally come out as CPA Board placers. The Contest consists of two parts: 1.) the individual category, on which contestant students are asked questions on a multiple choice basis. 2.) The Group category on which the Group is asked to solve and present their solution on a business case with a question and answer portion after the presentation. The committee is tasked to plan out and document very well the Contest to ensure its successful implementation.
FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare a document that will cover the role and responsibility of PICPA, ACPACI and GESTETNER in the Contest.
- Develop a Plan that will cover the implementation of the Contest including the documents covering the Rules of Contest, the Score Sheets, the System of Ratings and other details such as who area qualified to participate, the timetable or important dates, the prizes etc and to brief committee members of this Plan.
- Promote the Contest in all our Regions and Chapters to obtain wider participation.
- Develop the Committee’s Plans and Budget for approval of Liaison Director and submission during the Annual Planning Conference.
