CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION (CPE) COUNCIL

A CPE Council is created under our By Laws, consisting of 10 members, who shall serve for a term generally of three years, with continuity provision. The Council is the frontline support of the CPE Council of the PRC in implementing the CPE Program required by the Accountancy Law.

FUNCTIONS

  1. Accept and process application for accreditation of CPE providers, CPE Programs, activities, etc and to determine the appropriate CPE credit units earned and to process applications for CPE exemptions, in support of the PRC CPE Council.

  2. Devise the appropriate systems and procedures necessary to implement the accreditation system and the effective monitoring of CPE compliance.

  3. Issue the necessary certification of credit unit hours earned, upon request and upon payment of the necessary certification fee.

  4. Perform other duties as necessary or as may be required by the PRC

  5. Undertake all the necessary steps to ensure programs are in place for the continuous education of a registered CPA, to raise and maintain the professional capability in delivering professional services, to instill and maintain the highest technical and ethical standards of the practice and to make the Filipino CPAs globally competitive.

  6. Issue a CPE Primer that shall contain all the information, rules, regulations and policies with respect to CPE and its implementation and to review and modify the Primer yearly as necessary to include new pronouncements, policies and procedures.

  7. Promote the CPE Programs nationwide and to devise a communication system through which CPE queries and issues are addressed.

  8. Develop the Council’s Plans and Budget for approval of the Liaison Director and for submission during the Annual Planning Conference.
