PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH

PICPA takes the lead in assisting members in creating avenues for professional development of all sectors. Professional development should not only be concerned of technical and regulatory matters but should likewise ,extend to areas that will broaden the perspectives of our members and empower, inspire and motivate them to excel in their professional performance .This Committee is tasked to undertake the necessary research and compile new developments in technology , new rules and regulations from PRC, BOA BSP,SEC ,IC and other government agencies , new pronouncements and interpretation both in financial reporting and assurance , new areas of practice with in the profession, other topics of interest for professional development and to identify the required and appropriate development programs for our members. Additionally, this Committee should coordinate with other appropriate committees with respect to the facility /methodology to be used in implementing our development programs to reach our members in a very efficient and effective manner.

FUNCTIONS

  1. Recommend professional development programs on general and sectoral basis for implementation through our regions and chapters.

  2. Continuously evaluate, improve and update existing professional development programs considering developments, current trends and changes in laws and regulations and to undertake research work as necessary.

  3. Coordinate with other appropriate committees with respect to the facility/methodology of implementing professional development programs to reach our members in a very efficient and effective manner.

  4. Devise a networking system with regional and international bodies of accountancy to monitor trends and practices that will enhance our development programs.

  5. Actively search and encourage development of technical materials and disseminate such materials to the members through the PICPA publications and through other means.

  6. Document and publish professional development plans of activities of regions and chapters.

  7. Identify the requirements of PRCs CPE Council and the inputs of the Regional Sectoral Representatives and other committees and to ensure that these are all given due consideration our professional development programs and its implementation.

  8. Develop the Committee’s Plans and Budget for approval by the Liaison Director and for submission during the Annual Planning Conference.
