GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS, REGIONS, CHAPTERS AND AFFILIATES
The spirit of our by laws calls for the empowerment of our members through an effective operation of our geographic , regions and chapters and through their increased active and continuing participation in the national management of the Institute’s affair and leadership. This is very much expressed in the required composition of our National Board, the rotation of National Presidency and the creation of Geographic and Regional Councils. With this structure, the appropriate linkages for information, for command of action and for delivery of services to members as well as the means through which the will of the members would reach national level are in place. This committee is tasked to see to it that our geographic, regions and chapters and do understand adequately their role in the organization, and that geographic, regions and chapters are prepared to assume the responsibility required by our Institute. The Committee is also tasked to do the performance monitoring and assessment of regions and chapters on a yearly basis for national awards
FUNCTIONS
- Assist geographic and regions to identify and to establish new chapters; to reactivate inactive chapters and to encourage expansion of existing ones through consistent and effective membership campaigns...
- Develop an effective monthly monitoring and standard reporting system of chapter activities to the regions and on to the Board.
- Encourage sharing of information among the national office, the geographic, regions and chapters especially those concerning effective and best practices, regional or chapter issues and their solutions and other matters of interest.
- Develop a plan of action that will continue creating awareness of the PICPA structure, the electoral process and the continuing need to identify and train potential PICPA leaders.
- Assist regions to set up their offices and to monitor the use of the equipment given to them for exclusively PICPA matters.
- Assist regions and chapters in adopting the uniform system of accounting to facilitate consolidation of financial statements with the National Office’s, in coordination with the appropriate committee involved in the implementation of this project.
- Encourage the National Office, geographic, regions and chapters to share resources with each other whenever possible.
- Organize the midyear Annual Chapter Presidents’ Conference.
- Recommend geographic, regional and chapter awards, develop criteria to be used for selection and the types of awards to be given and to coordinate with the Publications Committee for the immediate dissemination of these information upon approval by the Board.
- Encourage chapters in participating in national events.
- Review our policy manual for geographic, regions and chapters and to keep these on a current basis and to suggest revisions, as necessary and monitor the implementation of approved policies and procedures.
- Inform members on a monthly basis of the committee’s plans, programs and activities
- Develop the Committee’s Plans and Budget for the year for approval of the Liaison Director and for submission during the Annual Planning Conference.
